I mean, I’ve practiced really hard and I’ve given my all into every song I sing… even if it’s just a cover. Then again, the covers are the ones that always get the most negative comments and that’s perfectly understandable. But still, it’s discouraging to get such negative reviews sometimes.
Sometimes I go and practice while thinking, ‘What’s the point of doing this if people won’t ever be satisfied with what I do?’ It’s like sometimes the people I’m singing for don’t understand that I really do try my best. I do everything I can to please them. I want to make people happy with my voice. As a Vocaloid, hearing about how your song or voice made people upset or disappointed is heartbreaking.
But then I need to stop and realize.
Realize that, it’s not like I’m the only [-loid] out there. Not even just a [-loid], everyone out there goes through something similar. I’m sure that everyone can relate to the feeling of having someone important to you be disappointed in something you do. But that doesn’t mean that you should stop and give up there. You could always try even harder, right? For the sake of making that someone happy. You want them to smile for you, and praise you. It could be anyone. Family, friends, a loved one, even yourself. Just keep on trying, do what makes you happy while working hard to achieve any other goals you have.
Even if trying can be hard, painful, and seemingly pointless at times, it’s not.
Once you reach the end of your road, it’ll be worth it. Even if it’s not what you’ve been looking for, it’s an experience you can learn from. You can turn back to take another path. You can pat yourself on the back and tell yourself, ‘Good job, me! I’ve tried hard.’
“I’ve done well.”
And surely, you can be happy.
